Bishesh Huirem the Manipuri transgender actress will represent India at ‘Miss International Beauty Queen’
The Miss International Beauty Queen contest is scheduled to be held next month in Thailand. The Manipuri actress has packed her bags to leave for Chonburi, Thailand.
She will be one of the 30 contestants selected for the international event which will take place on 11 November 2016, as stated in the leading daily.
Ms Huirem, who hails from Manipur, has a degree in fashion and apparel design and is a well known face in ‘mobile theatre’.
Though Ms Huirem’s representation is a definite win for India, there was a dearth of sponsors for the event, according to the same report.But on the brighter side,trans-models in India and internationally are finally breaking barriers.
Meanwhile in India, transgender rights activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi walked the ramp for jewellery designer Akassh K Aggarwal along with actress Mandira Bedi in April for the India Runway Week 2016.
