Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharatsinh Solanki could not stop praising the Congress for its pro-women stand and the “immense respect” it has for them. And then his speech veered off towards the governance of Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, whom he could not resist taking a jab at.

Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said, during Gujarat’s Foundation Day celebrations organised by the state unit of the Congress, held at Tagore Hall here.

“Modi should take Anandiben to Delhi and give the state’s command to able leaders like Nitin Patel, Purshottam Solanki and others,” he said, tongue firmly placed in his cheek. His comment, however, was not understood by his own partymen.

Bharatsinh Solanki said, The Gujarat government, by its 2015 labour laws amendment has taken away the basic rights of labourers.

Some 5,000 farmers in Gujarat have committed suicide due to the BJP government’s apathy. This government has become government of the land mafia and bootleggers.

After Congress’s successful ‘Ghar nu Ghar’ campaign the BJP had promised to build 50 lakh houses but it has not even provided 2% of that. Fraudsters like NA Constructions have the protection of the BJP. After spending Rs 900 crore on the Ahmedabad metro rail project, nothing has happened yet.

He was accompanied by All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Madhusudan Mistry,Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel, AICC spokesperson Shaktisinh Gohil, Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela and other Congress leaders.
