Students Prefer Computer Engineering Courses
AHMEDABAD: With faculties like electrical, mechanical and civil engineering not finding enough takers as so many seats of Engineering collages across Gujarat are going to be empty this year, computer engineering is the faculty which is much in demand.
This was clear from the fact that not a single seat of the 2,100 management and NRI quota seats that have been filled up was of computer science.
As per the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), the mock round for admissions 48,000 students chose 17.43 lakh options.
Of these over 7.5 lakh choices were for the 9,538 computer science seats.
the member secretary of the ACPC GP Vadodaria said that “Computer engineering is much in demand and that is why it does not figure in the 2,100 NRI and management quota seats .”
The placement officer of LD engineering college Kunal Bhoyani said that “Computer engineering has been in demand owing to better placement opportunities than mechanical, civil and electrical. Placement and the financial package offered to computer engineering students are better as compared to other streams.”
