Photos: Gujarat CM dedicated underground drainage system at Pethapur
On Monday, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel dedicated underground drainage system installed by GWSSB at the cost of Rs.14.28 crore under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana at Pethapur in Gandhinagar district.
On this occasion, Anandiben Patel also handed over a cheque of Rs. 2.59 crore to Pethapur Municipality for road resurfacing works.
the CM Anandiben Patel stated that in the wake of rapid urbanization, it is necessary to have a proper underground drainage system in the state to maintain public hygiene and cleanliness. She said that the state government is committed to ensure basic civic infrastructure and amenities, but it is the moral responsibility of the citizens to maintain cleanliness to create a healthy society and clean cities.
Anandiben Patel instructed the local authority to ensure drainage connection in every house as soon as possible. She added that the state government liberally allots grants for developmental works to municipalities, but it is the responsibility of the local authority to see that the grant is effectively used for quality works.
The CM recalled the days when water was supplied by tankers in about 5000 villages and towns before Narendra Modi took over as CM of Gujarat and added that the BJP government made a herculean effort to solve water supply problem in the state.
By giving reference of the Metro Rail Project, Anandiben Patel shared that after becoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately cleared about 209 pending approvals for the benefit of the state. She expressed her confidence in him and stated that now Gujarat will not face any kind of discrimination from the Central Government.
Anandiben Patel also talked about land acquisition issue and said that no land is now forcibly snatched by the government for any industrial purpose. She also informed about health programs for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and cancer and also dental problems and cleft lips in children. She appealed to everybody to take benefit of this free health services offered by the state government.
Anandiben Patel assured people that the state government will not do any disgraceful work. She appealed to the elected members and the authority to remain vigilant about public convenience and wellness. She also urged to the people to keep their town clean and green.
