Four coaches of a local train in Mumbai derailed near Mahim on Friday. Five people were reportedly injured in the incident.

The train, plying between Andheri-Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus, derailed around 9.55 am. The train movement in the Wadala-Andheri section has been affected due to the derailment.

With the railway officials scurrying for cover over derailment incidents, a narrow gauge train derailed in Gujarat’s Dang area on Wednesday.

Union Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu had on Wednesday offered to resign following a number of train derailment incidents in recent times following Kaifiyat derailment, and Utkal derailment.
