The year has seen major announcements like Jon Favreau’s directed The Mandalorian & Grogu movie and the confirmation of Ahsoka Season 2. There’s still many stories to tell in a galaxy distant.

StarWars: Tales of the Jedi (May 4, 2024)

Starwars Movie :The sequel the film Tales of the Jedi isn’t a Season 2, though it is still centered around two characters who are Force-sensitive. Tales of the Empire traces the two adventures of Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger) and Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) as they climb to the top in the Empire. Similar to Tales of the Jedi, the series comprises six shorts that are episodic. The six episodes are scheduled to be released during Star Wars Day, May 4, 2024.

StarWars: The Acolyte TV Series (June 4, 2024)

Starwars Movie :Russian Doll’s Leslye is in charge of a new live-action show on Disney+ set during the High Republic era, 200 years prior to the events in the prequels. Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy teases the series will “will take us into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emergent dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The event was Star Wars Celebration 2023 we discovered that that the show is scheduled to release in 2024. Then, Disney released the first trailer for the series along with news of the June 4th, 2024 release date.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew TV Series (2024)

Starwars Movie :Prior to that, the show had been operating under the name under the working title “Grammar Rodeo,” Star Wars Skeleton Crew comes from Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts. “The show takes place during the post-Return of the Jedi reconstruction that follows the fall of the Empire, the same as The Mandalorian,” says Vanity Fair. “A casting notice has called for four children, around 11 to 12 years old,” the publication states. “Inside Lucasfilm, the show is being described as a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.”

The news was revealed during Star Wars Celebration 2022 that Jude Law will star in the show.

StarWars: Andor Season 2 (2025/Possibly 2024)

Starwars Movie :Diego Luna’s rebel operative Cassian Andor will return for another season of his prequel. Filming began in the month of November 2022 at the same time that Season 1 was ending its run on Disney+. The production of the series was cut off due to Hollywood strikes however, hopefully things are back to normal in the present.

StarWars: Ahsoka Season 2 (In Development)

Starwars Movie :The first season of Ahsoka: Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger, the ending was not clear if those loose endings would be picked up in a subsequent season or be incorporated directly into Dave’s Mando-verse film. Now, Lucasfilm has recently confirmed Ahsoka Season 2. There’s still no release date but the show likely will not return until 2025, if not earlier.

The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie (May 22, 2026)

Starwars Movie :Lucasfilm has been a hit when it announced their announcement that there will be the release of a Mandalorian spinoff film independent of Filoni’s Mando Verse New Republic crossover movie. The movie is titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, the film will be directed by The Mandalorian co-creator Jon Favreau. It is believed that the film will be being filmed in the same location as The Mandalorian: Season 4.

Starwars Movie :Production is scheduled to begin in 2024 so it could end becoming one of the very first Star Wars project to hit the big screen since the release of The Rise of Skywalker. It’s confirmed in the sense it was revealed that Disney recently announced that the movie will be released on May 22, 2026. timeframe for the release.

Taika Waititi’s StarWars Movie (In Development)

Starwars Movie :Disney is confirming the fact that Thor: Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi has been selected for the role of director on a live action Star Wars movie. Waititi has also written the film with the 1917’s Krysty Wilson-Cairns. There’s nothing else known about the movie as of yet, such as the date it’s scheduled to be set within the Star Wars timeline or what release date it’ll be with.

In 2021, Waititi announced that he’s uncovered the plot for his film however the script is in the beginning stages. In May of 2022 Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy stated that this would be his future Star Wars film released. Then, in March 2023 Variety stated that the film could indeed be the movie which will fill the vacant December 2025 release date that Lucasfilm has on its schedule.

James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi Movie (In Development)

Starwars Movie :The last time we attended Star Wars Celebration 2023, we were informed we learned that Logan Director James Mangold is directing a film about the initial Jedi Knights. There isn’t much information about the film apart from the fact that it’s approximately 25,000 years prior to the previous films and will appear to be “Biblical” in scope.

Dave Filoni’s Mando-Verse New Republic Movie (In Development)

Starwars Movie :Dave Filoni will make the transition to make the leap from Star Wars shows to the big screen. Filoni is producing a film which is set in the aftermath from Return of the Jedi. The film is believed to connect shows such as The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s New Jedi Order Movie (In Development)

Starwars Movie :Ms. Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be director of the first Star Wars film set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Daisy Ridley will return to reprise her role as Rey Skywalker, with the film focussed on Rey’s efforts restore the role of Jedi 15 years after her final battle against Emperor Palpatine. There is a possibility that the other stars of the Sequel Trilogy will also return.

Starwars Movie :In the beginning, Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were slated to write the script. Then, both have now been removed from the project and Steven Knight stepping in.

StarWars: Rogue Squadron (Status Unknown)

Starwars Movie :Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was given the reigns of the Star Wars theatrical film, which was originally planned to be released in the holiday season 2023. Kathleen Kennedy teased, “This story will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill ride. The legend of Rogue Squadron has been long beloved by Star Wars fans, and will move us into a future era of the galaxy.”

Starwars Movie :Starwars Movie :As of the end of November 2021, the film was off the production schedule, and Jenkins was reportedly focusing in on Wonder Woman 3 (which has since been pulled). The insider in industry Matthew Belloni reported that the film was the newest in a string of Star Wars projects hampered by “creative differences.”

In March 2023 Variety revealed that one source has confirmed that the movie has ceased to be in development. In April of the same calendar year Kennedy said to IGN that: “Rogue Squadron, that certainly is something is still being discussed. If it’s a film, or if it ends up being a space of a series, that’s certainly something to think about.”

The Mandalorian: Season 4 / The Book of Boba Fett: Season 2 (Status Unknown)

Starwars Movie :There’s no news regarding a fourth season of The Mandalorian or a second season of The Book of Boba Fett. This announcement about The Mandalorian & Grogu may indicate that the previous series has been cancelled due to its limited-screen run, and we’re definitely not looking forward to a new season of The Book of Boba Fett at the moment.

StarWars: Lando Movie (Status Unknown)

Starwars Movie :Although Lucasfilm has no plans to make a sequel to the film of the same name in 2018 Solo: A Star Wars Story Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian was slated to be given his own live-action TV series at one time. The series was announced in December of 2020 and was created by Dear White People’s Justin SIMIEN. But Simien was eventually removed from the idea, and Stephen Glover along with his younger brother Stephen Glover taking over as creators.

In the fall of 2023, Stephen disclosed that Lando is expected to be developed into film rather than being a TV show. Amidst A series of significant delays in Disney The release dates for the upcoming 3 Star Wars movies now stand at May 22, 2026, and December 18 2026 and 17 December 2027. We’re still not certain the dates that correspond to the films that were announced. After a long time of no new Star Wars films the fans will get 3 Star Wars movies over the time period 2 years. It’s just assuming in all likelihood, the release dates don’t shift again.

Lucasfilm has also stated that they have a number of unannounced movies that are in the process of being made. What are they? Only the passage of time… as well as the Force… will reveal.
